Adventure Bike Training - Canberra, ACT

Adventure Bike Training Canberra is here to build the foundation of basic techniques of off road riding and up to riding obstacles, harder terrain. You have the option of selecting either of the 3 following sessions when registering at check out : #1- foundation, obstacles & terrain session which combines all skill sets into 1 day of training 5hr., #2 - Foundation session only 3hr. or select #3 - Obstacles & terrain session 2hr. All experience levels welcome.

Description

Adventure Bike Training - Canberra is designed so you can choose what you want to achieve out of your training by selecting which session best suits your requirements.

1. Combined Foundation, Obstacles & Terrain session - is about spending the whole day training all off road riding techniques and skill sets - Foundation, Obstacle and Cornering as listed below in the separated sessions.

2. Foundation Session - is about creating a solid riding base foundation of posture and motorcycle control skill sets & techniques and riding various obstacles.

  • Posture - sitting & standing - attack position that works for all obstacles as great foundation to enhance techniques from.
  • Steering - sitting & standing - bars, pegs, brakes & body that provide the most efficient steering control considered by most that these techniques make your bike feel 100kg lighter.
  • Slow speed control - clutch, throttle & Brakes, the ultimate bike control you can ever learn that creates a system of rider performance that is utilised in all riding situations from high speed to slow speed obstacle crossings and terrain but learned at a standstill pace.
  • Braking basics - sitting & standing - engine, front, rear & combined for maintaining a high level of grip regardless of the speed, surface, angle, or camber of terrain.
  • Obstacles - basic foundation and posture for control for ups & downs, small ruts gravel, grass, loose surface.

3. Obstacles & Terrain session - is about providing a system of control for trail riding and attacking obstacles that come our way. It is expected you have some experience and are quite comfortable already standing while riding if you are only choosing this session.

  • Grip Control - learn to drag / trail brake, control skid & j turns, backing it in - into small power slides out tight loose turns where controlling entry, exit and line adjustments. (As required on skill level)
  • Obstacles - sand, rocks, logs, ruts, water crossing ups & downs, and anything else we can find to ride up, on or over. we have few km of trail and land to negotiate from just learning to a little more intense.
  • Obstacles & terrain we choose will be determined case by case for the rider based on level of commitment and bike style which does play a part with some obstacles, we are not here to damage you or the bike if you don't want to.

Prerequisites

1. Own registered, road & dirt worthy motorcycle of choice. 

2. Licensed appropriately for motorcycle of choice. Learner license holders welcome

What to bring

1. Bike + appropriate Helmet & riding gear / goggles are a great investment if you don’t already have some for when it gets dusty.

2. Water + food appropriate for your own dietary & hydration requirements ( we obviously will have some water + snacks etc for you as well )

What to wear

Minimum standard of dress should be no skin exposed when riding - think about protection vs weather conditions so dress appropriately as if you were going for a ride, due to the nature of some of the training, good ventilation or warmth with protection is your aim.

Next Level obstacle skills is aimed at the adventure rider who is looking to up their level of skill on purpose built obstacles, riders of any experience level on any style of enduro / adventure / scrambler / trail motorcycles welcome. You just need to have that desire to push yourself to use the techniques we provide to ride challenging terrain such as hills, sand, rock, ruts and more through structured training. 1on1 off road - Trail Training is for riders of any experience level on any style of enduro / adventure / scrambler / trail motorcycles, catering to your requirements & goals that you would like to achieve during your training. If you have a friend you want to train with let us so we can create a group booking. We have all required commercial insurance and permits to deliver training in GHM state forest areas.

off road foundation skills course is for small groups of riders to enhance your off road skills to build the confidence of basic techniques for off road riding regardless of the style of bike you ride. All experience levels & registered enduro / adventure / scrambler / trail bikes welcome. Even with confident experience we can help enhance the basics that are used in advanced skill sets.
