Ride safe LVL 1 - Advanced Road Awareness
Improve riding skills and techniques to build confidence in slow speed handling, steering and braking techniques used in general riding and hazard avoidance. This course is designed for riders who have recently acquired a license and have not been riding regularly or are returning to riding motorcycles after some time off the bike. Course conducted on closed off training road style tracks for best performance outcome to real world scenarios in Brisbane, Sydney & Canberra.
Description
The course covers but not limited to the following:
Attitude and behaviour discussions during all aspects of the course and the relation to high vs low risk based on ability, knowledge and alertness.
Basic road worthy checks of bike and Personal Protective Equipment and accessories and how to identify potential issues that could impact their riding and attitude towards basic maintenance practices. Bike setup and checks as required for students.
Control and Grip discussion and demonstrations covering clutches, gearbox, throttle, suspension, tyres and new technology causes and effects.
Braking techniques depth and reaction and understanding of grip and control of loss of grip and how to control.
Steering inputs for turns using a low risk line selection and manoeuvrability of the motorcycle through various steering inputs based on speed and motorcycle type.
Vision and posture basics based around central and peripheral vision in riding situations and how speed influences control and fixation.
Low speed bike control through turns, u-turns and car park balance using techniques that work with the motorcycle and cause no unnescarry damage to motorcycles clutch and brakes. being able to stop and go without placing a foot down for balance is our guarantee.
Shifting gears brake application in controlled and emergency situations.
Defensive road riding techniques and road craft explained.

Prerequisites
Motorcycle License & Road registered Motorcycle.
Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for road riding - no skin exposed.
Motorcycle Helmet meets Aus Standards for legal use.
